Memories of the early 1980’s as a teacher of mathematics, amazing 7th and 8th grade students, experiences as a 9th grade advisor, recipient of the University of Rochester Excellence in Teaching Award, the caring and dedicated faculty and staff….
Memories of the mid-1980’s through late 1990’s as a teacher of computer literacy, students in my programming classes, working with teachers to integrate computer technology in their curriculums, kindergarten computer classes, teaching keyboarding, creating a District infrastructure for networking, providing professional development to teachers in the region, teaching an online course, serving as senior class advisor, attending the Jr./Sr. prom with the same date for 13 years (Thanks, Terry), initiating the tradition of the flower Thank You’s at graduation, serving as teachers’ union president, my own children attending school in Elba, the caring and dedicated faculty and staff…
Memories of the past decade as an administrator in the District, working with families as elementary principal to provide enriching experiences for their children, working with the fantastic children of my former students, laughter and friendship of my office colleagues, my own children graduating from Elba, camaraderie of the GV Superintendents, realizing courage and strength, induction in my high school’s Hall of Fame, building projects, serving as the BEA president, the challenges and joys of the superintendency, the leadership of the past and current members of the Board of Education, the first day of school for kindergarteners, graduation day for seniors including my own, the caring and dedicated faculty and staff…

Faculty and Staff of Elba for your dedication and commitment to the students of Elba. Your enthusiasm, caring attitude, love of learning and ardent desire to make a difference in the lives of Elba’s young people is evident on a daily basis. Your work is shaping the future of this community, State and Nation.
Current and Past Elba Students for being a source of inspiration, courage and hope. You are the very best and I shall miss you the most!
