    ELBA CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT 2020 ANNUAL MEETING AND ELECTION

     This notice is sent pursuant to New York Governor Executive Order No. 202.26 to provide information regarding the Elba Central School District’s 2020 Annual Meeting and General Election.

     Date of the Election: June 9, 2020 (via absentee ballot only);

     Date of Budget Hearing: May 27, 2020 at 6:30 p.m. via Zoom using the log-in details set forth on Elba Central School District’s website;

    Definition of Qualified Voter: A person shall be entitled to vote in the Elba Central School District’s 2020 Annual Meeting and Election, who is:  

    1. A citizen of the United States;

    2. Eighteen years of age;

    3. A resident within the Elba Central School District for a period of thirty days next preceding June 9, 2020; and

    4. No person shall have the right to register for or vote who would not be qualified to register for or vote at an election in accordance with the provisions of section 5-106 of the Election Law.

     Absentee Ballot: In accordance with Executive Order 202.26, absentee ballots will be mailed by the District. At least one (1) absentee ballot will be provided per household.  If a household requires additional absentee ballots, please contact the District Clerk at 585-757-9967 x1033 or email dharris@elbacsd.org


    2020/21 Budget Vote/Board of Education Election Information

    February 1, 2020  -  Candidate packets/nominating petitions for the Elba Central School Board of Education are available in the District Office.  Packets/Petitions can be accessed through the attached link or by calling the District Clerk at 585-757-9967 x1033 to have a packet mailed to you.

    Candidate Packet 5-2020

    Monday, May 11, 2020 -  Nominating petitions are due to the District Clerk by 5:00 pm.  There is no minimum signature restrictions for petitions.  

    Candidates will be listed in alphabetical order on ballots.

    Wednesday, May 27, 2020  -  Annual Public Budget Hearing 6:30 p.m. via Zoom.  (Please see District website for login information).

    Tuesday, June 9, 2020 -  Annual Budget Vote and Election.  Voting will be by absentee ballots and are due by 5:00 pm on Tuesday, June 9, 2020.  Ballots will be mailed to households in May after the Annual Public Budget Hearing.  If you have any questions on ballots and voting, please contact Donna Harris, District Clerk at 585-757-9967 x1033.

    If you are interested in running for the Elba Central School Board of Education, candidate packets with nominating petitions are available on this webpage. There is no minimum signature requirements for the 2020/21 Board Member petitons.  One seat, currently held by Michael Riner will expire this year.  Signed petitions must be returned to the District Clerk at the Districe Office by 5:00 p.m. TBD.

    Michael Zuber elected to a five year term (7/1/2019-6/30/2024)

    Dean Norton elected to a four year term (7/1/19-6/30/2023) to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Candy Bezon.
