Greetings Lancer Families,
It is with great joy and excitement that I introduce myself as your new Elba Junior/Senior High School Principal! Though my official start date was Monday, July 18th, I have spent the last few weeks preparing for the move. In this short time, I have had the pleasure of meeting several welcoming, passionate, and proud Lancers; I am elated to be joining this learning community!
I have spent the past 10 years dedicated to the field of education. Prior to becoming the principal here, I served as the Junior/Senior High School assistant principal at Byron-Bergen Central School District. Previous to that, I was a middle school social studies and high school special education teacher at Kendall Junior/Senior High School, where I also served as a volleyball, basketball, and softball coach, student council advisor, and class advisor. My education background includes a Bachelor of Arts Degree in secondary social studies and special education, and a Master of Science Degree in literacy for grades 5-12 from Keuka College, as well as a Post Master’s Certification in Educational Leadership from Stony Brook University. I am thrilled to utilize the skills I have obtained both through my education and experience to support families, teachers, and students within the Elba community.
I truly believe in the power of a small-school education. It is my goal to work alongside the dedicated educators here in Elba to create a meaningful and motivating educational experience for every Lancer that enters the school - one that will set each individual on a path for post-secondary success. I believe we can do this through collaboration, communication, connection, and craft. No two children learn in the same way every day; a school such as this gives us the opportunity to know each child as an individual, and design unique learning experiences to meet his or her needs. I am so excited to be partnering with each of you to achieve this goal.
Please know that lines of communication are always open. I encourage you to become involved in your child’s education in every way possible. I can be reached at (585)-757-9967 ext. 2150, or by email at: email@example.com. Enjoy the summer months. I look forward to meeting you soon!
With Lancer Pride,
Mrs. Morgan Marcello
